Biomechanical Assessment

Biomechanical assessment at kingstonfeet podiastristsAre you worried about how you or someone you know is standing or walking? Maybe your toes and knees turn in? Or out? You may suffer with pain in your joints or muscles of the leg.

During a biomechanical assessment we look at the legs, joints and feet to determine how they function. This includes checking out the structure and alignment of the whole leg and assessing the strengths and weaknesses of the muscles and other structures. We also look at you standing and walking to see how this may make a difference to how your feet function.

During the biomechanical assessment we discuss treatment options, advise stretches and exercises that will help, give footwear advice and sometimes suggest orthotics (special insoles made to fit you). We sometimes also refer on to a podiatry consultant if more specialist help is needed.
